Use Wet or Dry – It’s Remarkable

SLEDGEHAMMER may be used as a wet stripper that requires no scrubbing or rinsing, it can be used through automatic scrubbers as a conventional apply, scrub and rinse stripper or it may be used as a dry stripper and misted over the surface and padded back with a brown pad.

Instead of throwing out your spent stripping solution, SLEDGEHAMMER contains “flocullants’ that precipitate out sludge and allow you to reuse the stripping solution on another section of your work or on another job at no extra cost. By collection and reuse you are helping the environment and your back pocket. You will be able to collect and store your recycled stripper solution for up to three days.

How to Use SLEDGEHAMMER - For Best Results

Wet Systems

No scrub, no rinse method
1 part SLEDGEHAMMER to 4 parts cold or warm water. Apply by flooding the floor. Allow to activate for 5 to 15 minutes. Use the ferrule of the mop to apply pressure and “push off” the old sealer film. Re apply stripper solution to any dry areas. This method is ideal for small area stripping where no scrubbing machinery is required.

Auto scrub, no rinse method
1 part SLEDGEHAMMER to 6 parts cold or warm water. Apply by adding solution to autoscrubber and scrubbing floor with solution on “full open”, leaving the vacuum/squeegee in off position. Allow plenty of solution to prevent drying, leave for 5 to 15 minutes then heavy scrub with squeegee down and either stripper or clean water in solution tanks. Collect waste stripper for recycling or empty to drain.

Wet cut back
1 part SLEDGEHAMMER to 8 or 10 parts cold or warm water. Use blue or green pads under scrubber or buffer. Apply medium solution or stripper or just wet scrub with autoscrubber or buffer. Pick up with mop or autoscrubber. This effectively deep cleans the floor ready for recoating.

Dry Stripping or Cutting Back

This is the fastest method known because no mops, buckets or wet rinsing or autoscrubbing is required. In fact, dry stripping can be accomplished whilst the autoscrubber is used for normal maintenance. You can strip floors with your normal cleaning team. No out of hour stripping crew is required.

Spraybuff method, dry stripping
1 part SLEDGEHAMMER 6 parts cold water. Apply by lightly misting, by spray bottle application over an area of 20 square metres. So the floor is just damp wet with droplets not puddled or wet. Allow to activate for 30 to 60 seconds, fit “high performance” brown pad to buffer (under 400 RPM) and “work” up and down the edges first, then across the aisle to even out the appearance. Spray mist the next 20 square metre section prior to finishing the first section so as to allow for activation time.

Note: Although SLEDGEHAMMER is self neutralizing it is always advisable to neutralize the floor prior to resealing to remove residual alkalinity that may be present -ref NEUTRACLEAN.
